Featured Artist, December 1-8: Ella Jean Lumpkins
About the featured art:
Lately I have been doing collage pieces for punk show flyers. It's meditative and fun finding another use for things that would go in the recycling bin. In an age where so many things are made on a computer to look like they are handmade. I wanted to put on display the original cut and paste versions of the pieces I've made.
About Ella Jean:
I have always been involved in some sort of creative endeavor since I was a young child whether it was skateboarding and building my own ramps out of refuse, playing music and finding free percussive alternatives that you couldn't find at a music store, or creating art like flyers for punk shows out of items that would otherwise be thrown away or recycled like magazines and newspapers.

About her art:
“I enjoy using alcohol markers, colored pencil, and gouache to create weird, whimsical, and sometimes spooky pieces with themes of nature and folklore.”

Featured Artist, November 10-17: Amy Talbott
Artist’s Statement:
This map is a celebration of south Louisville neighborhoods, and was originally part of a giant city map I completed in 2021. The project took hours and hours of research on neighborhood names and boundaries, and I enjoyed every bit of it. The version you see here was updated this summer with vibrant colors and hand-drawn lettering.
I have 8x10 prints for sale on my website.

Featured Artist, November 3-10: Kirsten Yeager, aka, that will doodle
Artist’s Statement:
I love creating art that finds its own direction. I rarely start with a plan — I just follow where the piece wants to go. When something doesn’t turn out as expected, I pivot and let the ‘mistake’ become part of the story. I’m especially drawn to working in black and white — it strips away the pressure of color and lets me focus completely on form, balance, and the feeling behind the piece.
